Side Tracked

Matt is out taking pictures of waterfalls with one of our students and at this very moment I should be cooking taco meat so that lunch will be ready when he gets home.  But, when he left this morning he said he didn't know when he was going to be home and like any good wife I found something else to do with my time besides cook and be prepared for my husband's homecoming.

I'm window cooking.

It's like window shopping but better because A) I don't have to use gas to go the mall  and B) the calories stay on the screen where they belong and far far away from my butt and thighs (yes, yes, and my back if you really must know.  Pregnancy has made me squishy in places that I would rather not be.)

Window cooking started with a stop by Martha Stewart's  place to print the frosting recipes that were featured in her most recent magazine.  I have a subscription (FREE!) but I'll be passing it around to friends and didn't want to be that girl and rip all of the good recipes out before handing it over.

Seven-Minute Frosting

Now that the Butter Cream, Seven-Minute, Ganache and Chocolate Frosting recipes have been printed, it's on to The Pioneer Woman...

And today, the Tasty Kitchen is where it's at.

Sweet Tooth?   Try A Sweet Story.

Followed by the Rice Krispy Treats

Or maybe I'll try the Quick Candy Cookies.

But before I try all the sticky-sweet goodness, I think I'll give the Butter Chicken a try.

Or maybe the Chicken Salad Sandwiches.

After I gobble up all of the Bow-tie Lasagna.
Man, I'm hungry...I should go make lunch.

Window cooking, huh? I should try that sometime. It sounds a lot easier than regular cooking! :-)
