What are the odds...

Shortly after moving to Portland I went to the DMV to take my written driver's exam. Half way though the exam I was asked the following question:

A blind person is approaching an intersection, which of the following actions do you take:
a) speed up and try to beat them to the intersection
b) stop and wait for the person to cross the street
c) slow down and proceed with caution
d) continue at your current speed and proceed through the intersection.

Maybe I'm stupid but I picked 'd'. Surprise, surprise - that was the wrong answer. (You're laughing - I can hear you.) My reasoning was that we don't know that the blind person is going to actually cross the street. They could be out for an afternoon stroll, messing with unsuspecting drivers by approaching intersections with no intention of crossing them! (By the way, the correct answer was b.)

This evening as I meandered through the Fred Meyer parking lot on my way to Kinkos...A blind man was approaching the intersection. Wait, don't tell me, I know this one!
