I work with Jr. High, High School and college-age girls at my church and constantly see the effects of poor self image as it directly relates to a young woman's appearance. Unfortunately, I am guilty of judging others by their appearance, treating them as though it's a reflection on how well they take care of themselves, how much money they have, how intelligent they are, what kind of friend they are, how much their family loves them, etc. To walk into a clothing store and be treated like a beggar walking in off the street only because we are not the most attractive or best dressed woman in the room can be discouraging. As I was changing in the dressing room at Old Navy last week, I took one look at myself in the mirror and decided that I needed to lose a few pounds because I didn't fit into my outfit the way the girl on the poster did - and I wear a size FOUR!
When will the madness end!?

On the radio around here they were talking about an AWESOME book that addresses this issue (along with many other female body things that you would never want to ask your mom). I bought it and I totally love it! It is called Body Drama and was written by a former beauty queen. Very cool!
Thanks Jenny! I'll have to check it out.
Ever since I heard Angela Thomas speak I've been repeating to myself, "The King is enthralled with my beauty." Now to pass that on to my girls...
