Long Overdue

Oh heavens, what a week for lunch time internet perusing. I came across some gems that I just have to share with you. Some are good, some are bad and some are just plain creepy.

First: Creepy Jesus Art.
By far the best is THE BEAR. One of the captions a reader submitted was "When you only saw one set of footprints in the sand, that's when I let the bear eat you."

Here are the rest. I can't make any promises that there isn't questionable language in the responses or captions.

Second: Creepy Fair Food.
Maybe it's because I grew up the Northwest and I have a holier-than-thou attitude regarding what people in Washington, Oregon and Idaho eat when compared to those in other parts of the country. (Though we know that shouldn't be the case because I almost finished off an entire box of Crunch n Munch by myself yesterday at lunch and if I had the stomach to I would have bought the big box of Cadbury Creme Eggs and finished that off too.) But Chicken Fried Bacon? Really?! Krispy Kreme Chicken Sandwich? Uh, Obama? I think I found the reason for our health care woes...

Third: Sometimes Christians Make It Too Easy
Some of you know that I'm a fan of the site internetmonk.com. In October (I think), Michael Spencer was diagnosed with cancer and has been unable to post in quite some time. There are others posting in his place as well as re-postings of some of his best and most popular writing over the years. As always, many make me think and some make me laugh so I'm grateful for the opportunity to read those that came before my time. For instance, I find some Christian's obsession with figuring out exactly when Jesus will be coming back to be pretty ridiculous. Like this guy. (For the record, my opinion of the whole thing tends to lean toward this post.)

Fourth: Sometimes I wish I could crawl under a rock
and pretend this doesn't happen.
And then I come to my senses and remember that while I can't go there and physically bring this girl safely home, I can pray for her and those like her all around the world.

So that's it for now. Mostly because I've run out of time on my lunch hour. Never fear blogging friends, I'll be back!!
