Making up for lost time

I've gone to facebook four or five times over the last few days with the intent of signing up. Still haven't been able to pull the trigger. Don't worry, I will at some point. My mom's on facebook now, how can I say no to her? The rest of your valiant attempts to get me signed up have not gone unnoticed - just disregarded. Calm down, its not because I don't like you - it's because...um...well, just pick whichever reason makes you feel good and keeps our friendship in tact. No seriously though, it's because I'm afraid of committment.

On a totally different topic: Matt and I had date day this morning and afternoon. Went and saw the new Star Trek movie. Awwwwesoooome! (You have to do it in a sing songy voice or else you sound like an idiot) Everything JJ Abrams touches turns to gold (except Cloverfield which went nowhere fast.) The guys who wrote the Star Trek screenplay were writers for the first couple seasons of Alias (the GOOD seasons, for those in the know) and they also wrote Eagle Eye, which is a pretty good blow 'em up spy movie. (And Fringe, which I don't watch but I hear is pretty good.) Seriously, you should go see it in the theater - don't wait for it to come out on DVD.

note to self...reevaluate the need to use parenthesis in every single sentence.

Then we went to The Cheesecake Factory for lunch and dessert. That's all I have to say about that.

When we got home we went outside to pull weeds and then mow the weeds that were left. Hopefully we'll see a change in weed to grass ratio by the end of the summer as well as a change in the ratio of minutes spent in the yard to spiders and ants that fall in Jackie's hair. Keep your fingers crossed.

So, I'm watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on ABC right now and I've been assaulted by a Disney Channel/Jonas Brothers commercial. Can someone tell me what the draw of the Jonas Brothers is? I'm not picking up what they're putting down. And I don't get why "the cute one" is considered "the cute one" - that other kid is way cuter. What am I talking about? They're all like, 15 years old! I shouldn't be noticing things like that. Oh, and I'm married - that's the other reason I shouldn't be noticing things like that.

Ugh. I think I feel an ant crawling around in my hair. I have to go wash it again. Then I shall liberate the chocolate mousse cheesecake from it's arctic Whirlpool prison.
